Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Mostly George and I am Indie Hip-Hop Artist, currently living in Budapest, Hungary EU.
How did you come up with your artist name?
I made this name up when I was working in the UK, back in 2014
My hungarian name is hard to pronounce in english (GYÖRGY), so when people were asking me to introduce myself I was telling them my name, adding that it’s mostly for George.
How long have you been in the music industry?
I had a love and hate relationship with music in general in my early years. You see, I started to pen down my first ryhmes in 2004 after I attended the first Hip-Hop show in my hometown. After That I couldn’t stop, so I learned how to make beats for myself (we didn’t have Internet and a lot of knowledge back then in my areea), So I started to fill up Notebook after Notebook, Hard Drive after Hard Drive with beats. In between, the quality of life dropped in my place, after the financial breakdown happened accross the globe, so I had to focus on earning money, so music become a long forgotten hobby from time to time, but I picked up the pen and the midi pad in 2015 and haven’t stopped since then.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
In 2011 I hosted, promoted and organized my first live show in my hometown, with considerably good success, that’s when I knew: I got it what it takes to make this happen
How would you describe your latest single?
Lockdown is a ballad of a generation and last years Happening in the world. It is the child of emotions that has been piling up, blow after blow, that the world delivered to humanity.
It is a big question mark towards society as we know it:
Who should we trust?
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
The visuals has been shot in my home with a green screen, but man I had fun editing it.
You can expect an impactful buildup, some trippy colors and a questioning Catharsis
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
My biggest inspiration to this day is Strange Music and to be more precise mr. Tech N9ne. That empire stood the pressure of time, and it became a diamond, he and his partner Travis should be super proud of. A lot of people are sleeping on the man, but they should definately wake up.
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
Just Do It! is my motto. If I hear a beat, or I make a beat for a project, I just sit down and let the instrumental talk to me. After that I just need to figure out the puzzle, where the ideeas will fit in the composition.
I usually pen down the chorus and first verse, or all of the song and then just rehearse and perfect it while I am riding public transportation or when I’m walking in the park
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
My next Single is titled “NEBULA” and it’s a continuation of “LOCKDOWN”
With a more positive instrumental, I am talking about the need to inspire and to elevate people’s energies in the current climate.
The song is an interesting mix of Hip-Hop, Trap and Reggae.
It is a Cure for one’s soul, fingers crossed that people will actually resonate whit it’s energy
