Interview With Rap Artist ‘Cyco Tha King’

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m just a regular dude that loves music I’m married I got kids and everything I do is for my family rather than for myself.

How did you come up with your artist name?

I used to freestyle in the hood for my friends and they would always tell me how crazy I went somebody started calling me “Cyco” and I’m a King so that’s how “Cyco Tha King” became my name.

How long have you been in the music industry?

I been making music since I was a little kid probably 8-9 years old I recorded my first song at 13 it was somebody else’s song I was featured on but that’s when I knew for sure this is what I was meant to do. 

How did you get started in the music business in the first place?

That time is still yet to come but the grind is going to pay off sooner or later.

How would you describe your latest single?

I’m putting together a album right now I still haven’t picked a single yet I do have a few in mind but no matter which one I pick that shit gonna be lit.

When can fans expect the visuals for the single?

I’m looking to put the visuals out alongside the track if that doesn’t happen it will be very soon after.

Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

My 2 biggest inspirations in the industry are “Jay Z” and “Lil Wayne” but I’m inspired by a lot of people in a lot of different ways anytime I see something great I’m inspired.

How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?

I pick a beat and I just go with whatever feeling it give me 

What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?

The idea is to showcase my talent to let people know I can spit 

Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?

The biggest promotion will be online if the music gets the response I’m looking for I’ll definitely try to get a tour together 

What did you buy with your first check off music?

I never made a penny off any music 

What are must haves when your in the studio working?

I don’t need nothing but the mic and the engineer let’s get it 

What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?

The best piece of knowledge I gathered came from observing and that’s to make sure you know what you’re getting into

Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?

I’m always down to work with any artist if the vibe is there 

What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?

I’ve worked with a some people in my city its always dope to connect with other artists 

Name an artist(s) that you would love to work with?

Lil Wayne is my favorite rapper I would love to do a song with him

Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

I would hope it’s for the lyrical content I try to pick dope beats but I’m always looking for the lyrics to stand out 

What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..

I would say stage performance I’ve done shows around my city but it’s been a while

That’s a tough question lol too many to pick from

What was the last album you listened to?

Shoot for the stars aim for the moon 

Your favorite artist of all time and why?

I love so many artists but “Lil Wayne” is my favorite I love the word play his bars are crazy

Lil Wayne, Kevin Gates, Tee Grizzley, Drake and Lil Baby

In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

I’m just gone say Jay Z worth a billion and we all wish we could get there 

Who have been some of your favorite artists that you’ve been able to work with?

I haven’t really worked with anybody 

How do you feel about the current state of music?

I think it’s lit it’s a lot of different vibes out there 

Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?

The Bet Hip Hop awards I love rap for me that’s the place to get to 

What is your main goal as far as music?

The main goal is to be heard everything else is secondary the music lives forever 

Who would you say your music relates to the most?

My music relates most to the streets that’s where I’m from that’s my story to tell 

What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)

I got a true love and passion for music you can hear it in the music I don’t hear that a lot for some of these rappers sometimes it sounds like a hobby there decent at 

When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?

Im married with five kids the studio is my fun and relaxation 

If you could work with any producer who would it be?

J Cole his beat are dope as hell 

What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?

I got to perform at a festival the mayor in my city out together the love o got there hasn’t been matched yet

The way of the superior man by David Deida

What’s your favorite sports team and why?

Ohio State Buckeyes I’m from Columbus Ohio I been a fan since I was a kid 

Whose your favorite actor or actress and their best movie?

Will Smith my favorite movie of his is “I Am Legend”

Name someone famous who inspires you and why?

Rip to King Nip he was a inspiration for me just watching his grind from the bottom and seeing where he was at and where he was headed then hearing the great album he put out he was also a great teacher I got a lot of gems from him 

What can we expect from you in the future?

More music, more visuals, more collabs just keep expecting more
