Tell us a little about yourself?
I am Bulgarian, raised in Brazil. I’m a singer, songwriter & classical violinist. Also a gemini.
How did you come up with your artist name?
I went with Chili, because it includes my real nickname (ili) & plays with the gemini dichotomy: chili meaning both hot and cold, plus the AF coz its always intense! Chilis are also known to protect and bring good luck!
How long have you been in the music industry?
Officially, around 3 years.
How did you get started in the music business in the first Place?
I had been a professional violinist my whole life. In 2013 my friends were studying music production and needed someone to help write top-line and then record the demos, so I jumped in, on the side, just for fun. The feedback from their teachers and other students was always really great. I quickly realized that I was enjoying songwriting more than playing the violin. Songwriting didn’t feel like work at all.
How would you describe your latest single?
It’s an open diary. Flashbacks to moments of my teenage years. Dexx Rashad (@beatsbydexx) also tells his side of the story. It’s a chill and nostalgic vibe in RnB form. Wholesome.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
Right now I’m doing the one song a week run, so in June I should begin to drop music videos for the songs I been releasing.
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
Frank Ocean, Glen Hansard, RadioHead, Rihanna…
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
I record as I write, almost in a freestyle.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
It’s an evolution of my 1st EP. The question was “Is There A Better Way to Live?”
Whereas this next one is an observation on the decisions made or needed to be made in the pursuit of living better.
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
Until the world opens back up, I will definitely do online live shows!
What did you buy with your first check off music?
A mic from the pawnshop.
What are must haves when your in the studio working?
good vibes, incense/candles and drinks.
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Be yourself.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
In the future, yes!
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
Zayn Malik! I didn’t meet him in person but we co-wrote his single “Entertainer”. It was a very exciting moment in my life. Very magical.

Drake, Tierra Whack and Steve Lacy.
Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?
Its the whole combo!
What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, ect..)
I been working on my English accent.

Your favourite artist of all time and why?
Bach. The layers of complexity in his music and emotions are otherworldly! His life story is also fascinating.

In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
Rihanna. Everything she does is inclusive and it’s all impeccably done.
Who have been some of your favourite artists that you’ve been able to work with?
Zayn and Victoria Georgieva! She is going to represent Bulgaria In Eurovision this year!
How do you feel about the current state of music?
It could use some more positive content. I think it needs something fresh and authentic.
Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
All of them!
What is your main goal as far as music?
I want to shine some light and good vibes into the world.
Who would you say your music relates to the most?
The introverted extroverts, the ones learning to come out of their shell… People that feel deeply. And those who appreciate eclectic music.
What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
I’m just being myself. My mix of cultures and life story translates into my unique sound.
When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Hiking, self-care & watching something easy (my guilty pleasure is Married At First Sight! )

I feel like I found my perfect match. It’s Dexx (@BeatsByDexx).
What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
The whole journey has been a highlight. I celebrate everything! Every time a new person joins the chili fam it’s a highlight. Every time someone shares their story with me and how my music has helped them, it’s a highlight.
What is your dream venue to perform at?
Coachella and literally anywhere in Tokyo !!
What’s the name of the last book you read and by whom?
It’s All In Your Head – Russ
What’s your favourite sports team and why?
I don’t know much about sports teams but I’m learning. My answer is still brewing.
Whose your favourite actor or actress and their best movie?
Heath Ledger. Best performance was in The Dark Knight. But I am also very emotionally attached to 10 Things I Hate About You and A Knight’s Tale!
Name someone famous who inspires you and why?
Greta Thunberg because she fights for the future of our planet. Her courage is inspiring.
