How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
Music has been the only thing I have ever truly wanted to do. I used to sing with my family at 3 years old. As a teen I performed in a country band. I also was a DJ for karaoke throughout high school. When I turned 18 I performed with bands, girl groups and as a solo singer. At 21 I met my co-writer/husband Corey Johnson. We started writing songs and I have been hooked ever since.

How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
I write music very different than most. Usually I start with the music. Either myself or my co-writer Corey will sit down at the piano or guitar and start playing something. Sometimes a melody will just instantly pop into my head and then we just create a song on what I hear in my head. So its music , then melody and then lyrics. I like to take time on my lyrics so they are always written after the fact. I also don’t go into a writing project thinking of what I am going to write about. I let the music tell me what I am writing about. I go on the feels I feel.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
The concept of my entire album is the emotions people experience inside due to relationships and experiences through out life.
