Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m singer and songwriter from Perth, Western Australia.
How did you come up with your artist name?
It’s a short name for Qarin. However, there were other Rins so made it double.
How long have you been in the music industry?
I launched my debut single as a solo artist July 2020 so just barely 9 months.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
I started music lessons at the age of 10 and joined in my dad’s cover band at the age of 13. I formed an experimental band at 17 and later joined Perth’s Emo-rock band Love Me Natalie to feature in the release of Heroes single and music video. I started writing songs at 15 yrs old but wasn’t really confident about it (using garage band). The Covid 19 lockdown in 2020 caused Love Me Natalie to a standstill, so I decided to push writing my own songs and released my debut single The Game in July 2020.
How would you describe your latest single?
‘Seek The Truth’ is about being in a relationship/friendship wherein you’ve been blinded by love. It’s where letting go seems so hard and it’s easier to just pretend that everything is going alright. At the end, the truth will set you free.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
A music video had been released for ‘Seek The Truth’ you can watch it here.
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
I grew up listening to Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift and discovered Orianthi, Paramore and Flyleaf in Guitar Hero. I then loved Slipknot, Baby Metal and later been playing Paramore for my Dad’s band. When I started writing, I loved the structures of Tonight Alive, Bring Me The Horizon and the boldness of Avril Lavigne and RedHook lyrics.
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
Being in a mood for writing is very important. I can picture a scenery, emotions and even blank walls with music in it. I then started to create the backing track with my Logic Pro while overlaying it with live guitar riffs. Once I have the rough structure, I will start to play it all over again and match the melodies for the song parts. When I bring the rough demo to the studio, its almost done. All it need are the TLC’s during production.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
The EP I’m working on is a very basic of what my musical taste is. It’s a sort of a tasting plate of what’s to come in the future. And of course it is still secret of what it really is 😊.
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
If travel restrictions are all gone, a tour is in the horizon. Might be a local tour for now.

What are the must haves when your in a studio working?
Tons of good vibes and preparedness, water, my Dad and Rudiga 😊
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Dream big, follow your will and just keep on going. Only yourself can stop yourself from doing what you love. Believe in your work. You run your own race. It’s either you do it or not. When you do, do it right @110%.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
I would welcome the idea.
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
None at this stage. Although, it might be in the EP but it’s still yet to be decided.
Name an artist you would love to work with?
RedHook. I would die to open a show for Emmy Mack.
