Tell us a little about yourself?
I am HellzFlame, a Hip Hop Soul artist from Omaha Nebraska. I sing and rap, I am a songwriter as well as a performance artist. I have 6 children. I am engaged to be married to the woman of my dreams. And I grind hard 24/7
How did you come up with your artist name?
The way I came up with my artist name is, I used to always rap about how hot my lyrics were hence, the Flame part also, hellfire is said to be the hottest fire created, so I put the two together and I wanted to be called something controversial.
How long have you been in the music industry?
This is my 6th year of professionally releasing music to the world. I have been practicing all my life!
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
I could always sing since I was 3 or 4 years old. Honestly I was just recording and performing because it was fun and the ladies loved it. I initially didn’t know that I NEEDED to do music until, I got indicted for gun possession in 2007. That’s when I knew I couldn’t live without creating music.
How would you describe your latest single?
I would describe my latest single as a much needed sound and different!
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
Fans can expect a lot of visuals this spring and summer, not only for my latest single, but a lot of older tracks I have released. Fans can expect a different look and feel from all of my videos. I don’t gravitate to the normal way of shooting videos.
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
My inspiration for music are the artists who defeat the odds against them. The underdog artist. Prince, Pimp C, Russ. Etc…
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
It’s a feeling my writing process is different I listen to the beat and it speaks to me, I just have to put it together.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
The concept behind the album I just released, is a follow up collaborative album that I released with another artist. The first album was the first part of his name and the last part of my name so we called it BluFlame. This album we took the first part of my name and the last part of his name and you get HellzHoncho.
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
I do have plans on touring to promote this single and album I just released. I have three shows coming up one here in Nebraska 04/10 Las Vegas one in California for 4/20.
What did you buy with your first check off music?
With my first check I made from music I purchased more beats, and I paid for promotion for the music I had previously released.
What are must haves when you’re in the studio working?
A must have for me in the studio first of all, is a vibe secondly I gotta have that top shelf marijuana, really that’s all and the beats from a producer with a different sound.
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
The best piece of advice that I have received this far is, never give up and release the music you have.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
I mean collaborations are nice, I would love to collaborate with someone. But as a artist I feel like I can do it solo. Artist I would like to work with right now if I could would be J. Cole, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko etc..
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with a couple of great artists like Luni Coleone, O’Shea, DL Downer I feel like I’m missing some. All of the artist that I have worked with so far it has been great the vibe was good and the music turned out even better.
Name an artist(s) that you would love to work with?
An artist I would love to work with of course is J. Cole, he is one of the coldest in the world!
Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?
I think my music is enjoyed mostly for all 3, the beats, lyrical content, flow/cadence. I try to make sure that all of the elements are presented.
What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..)
The only area that I feel needs improvement in my career now is production. Once I find the right engineer, it’s on.
What’s your all-time favourite song?
My all time favourite song is the next is the last or next song I work on!
What was the last album you listened to?
The last album I listened to while working out at the gym was, MJG “no more glory”.

My favourite artist of all time is Pimp C. Of UGK.

Favourite 5 artists right now would be, J. Cole, Big Sean, Da Baby, Eric Bellinger & Ty Dolla $ign.
In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
The most influential and successful artist is, Jay Z hands down, because he has been consistent throughout his entire career!
Who have been some of your favourite artists that you’ve been able to work with?
Honestly it’s the independent artists I work with who fuel my fire.
How do you feel about the current state of music?
The current state of music is headed in a great direction, people are not just interested in the beat anymore. The fans want substance in their lyrics.
Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
I plan to perform at all of the award shows!
What is your main goal as far as music?
My main goal as far as music is, to be heard on a global scale, also to make a living and pay my bills with the money I earned from Music.
Who would you say your music relates to the most?
I would have to say my music relates to anyone, I talk about real issues and relatable topics.
What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
What separates me from other artists is, individuality. The fact that there is and has ever been only one HellzFlame ever speaks volumes.
When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
When I’m not in the studio I like partake in medicinal marijuana activities and just relax.
If you could work with any producer who would it be?
If I could have the pleasure to work with any producer I could, it would be Timbaland because his beats are very unique and challenging.
What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
The biggest highlight of my career thus far is, breaking 500,000 streams also, I won an award from Academia, they flew me out to California for a red carpet event, to accept the award.
What is your dream venue to perform at?
My dream venue since a kid, to perform at is, the Sydney opera house in Australia.
What’s the name of the last book you read and by whom?
The last book I read was, it’s all in your head by Russ.
What’s your favourite sports team and why?
I don’t have a favourite sports team my favourite sport are, UFC and boxing.
Whose your favourite actor or actress and their best movie?
My favourite actor is Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp is a very versatile performer he can be whoever and whatever the world calls for.
Name someone famous who inspires you and why?
I can’t really name a famous person that inspired or inspires me, because I don’t know them, I don’t know what their daily life and struggle consist of, I don’t know what their battles or evils are so, to answer honestly, I inspire myself. I know where I came from, I know where I am now, and that alone is inspiration in itself.
What can we expect from you in the future?
Everyone can expect a lot more great music, a lot more brand ambassador, A lot more visuals, also I am working on something big in the background that I cannot disclose until further notice.
