Tell us a little about yourself?
Hi, I’m Bradley Peck, a 19 year old musician from Southend-On-Sea in the UK! I’m currently creating pop music but will be going into other genres as my platform grows.
At the moment I’m creating an EP called “Teenage Feelings” which is like a mini EP about the experiences of most teens when going through love. Some songs will be sad but others will be uplifting and happy.
My aim as a musician is to inspire others to creating their art no matter what people are saying. Art is art man. I also want to make my dad proud as he sadly passed away when I was around 2 years old so he never really got to see me grow up. I want to be able to one day look up to the stars and say “Look dad, I made it!”.
How did you come up with your artist name?
Honestly, I just used my real name. I liked the idea of having another name like artists such as ‘YUNGBLUD’ and ‘Machine Gun Kelly’ etc. But I ended up on my own name due to me wanting to have my work associated with my real name if that makes sense.
How long have you been in the music industry?
Not very long! Haha. Started getting into music in 2018 and only released my first single on February the 28th of 2020. It took me a while to release any proper songs mainly due to money and finding my own voice. I feel like people overlook things and rush straight into things whereas I’ve got OCD and because of that everything had to be perfect so once my songs were released I could just continue instead of backtracking myself.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
I got started really young as I always enjoyed singing from an early age to the likes of Justin Bieber so it basically made sense for me to start a career in music, but I only properly got into the business in 2018 when I first created an account with a distributor and started planning my music career.
How would you describe your latest single?
I’d honestly describe my latest single as a vibe. It’s something you can listen to in the car and just bop your head to if you get me? I feel its so simple that anyone can just stick it on and enjoy the song.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
Due to it being my first single there won’t be any visuals sadly because it was fairly rushed and i’m doing everything independently so i’m only doing minimal stuff for the start of my career, but i’ve got big things planned so stay tuned!
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
My main inspirations from the music industry range from ‘YUNGBLUD’ and ‘Machine Gun Kelly’ doing basically whatever they want and having a fun time doing so, to people like Justin Bieber who has basically had his entire life written out in multiple award winning albums. I like to think my inspirations are widely ranged when it comes to music.
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
Writing songs can be tricky. For me, I personally found free-styling to help my single. I just kept re-recording my track and constantly saying things that came to my head and then edited it together to create a few verses. I always struggled writing songs so being able to free-style the entire song and then record it professionally later helped a ton.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
h Boy! The concept for my new EP called “Teenage Feelings” is going through emotions when falling in love. I want this to be a project that kind of connects me to my fanbase that i’ll be able to grow upon. After releasing 2 singles I felt like it was time for a mini EP to get the ball rolling for my career. I’ve gone to extreme lengths to get the best people to help me and planned ahead of time to ensure this project turns out exactly how I want it to. After releasing some singles I felt like my discography was pretty empty and because of my OCD it made me go crazy!
All I can say about my new project is just wait. It’ll be worth it I promise.
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
So far, I’ve only made a small amount of money and I’ve basically invested it all back into my career. I don’t want to slow down. Life is way to short to keep getting setbacks so I’m going full throttle in this thing. My music won’t take off unless I push it and to do that I’ve got to put every bit of money and effort towards it, especially if you think of it as an investment because as businesses work you want people to invest into you but if you don’t take the first step and put your own money into your business then nobody else will want to touch it because it looks like a risk. I want to take all the risks instead of a record label and earn the maximum amount of money possible so I can continue to improve and strive for greatness. As for promotion, I’ve got big plans. Me and my friend RJS are planning on running multiple adverts to expand our fanbases and get the maximum effect possible. We’re also using big budgets in order to gain lots of traction to our music.
What are must haves when your in the studio working?
Always need a bottle of Pepsi and a good old sausage roll. Those two combinations are just the best! (It has to be a Greggs sausage roll though!)
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Main thing was to always keep an open mind and connect with other people. My friend RJS has taught me a lot about the music industry and helped me connect with Miles who further educated me on the business. So I’d say for any aspiring musicians, always connect with other people and keep an open mind.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
For sure! I’m aiming to collaborate with a few artists such as ZVC and RJS just to name a few!
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
Sadly I’ve not had the chance to collaborate with other artists due to my early start in the music industry but I’m aiming to start with this EP so we’ll see how it goes!
Name an artist(s) that you would love to work with?
YUNGBLUD, Machine Gun Kelly and Justin Bieber would be my top 3 godly tiers for collaborations!
Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?
Hard to say really. I think it all depends on the listener and their perception of the song. Some people have different thought processes to the person next to them so i’d say its a matter of opinion.
What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc…)
100% stage presence as I’ve only ever performed a bunch of times. I wasn’t bad or anything but I do need to add more energy to my performances in order to captivate an audience for an entire show. I know where my weaknesses are and I’m slowly stamping them out.
Your favourite artist of all time and why?
YUNGBLUD for sure! I can’t explain it entirely man but his energy is just next level. I think the main reason is just that he’s himself. He didn’t let the fame change him and that’s inspiring to me.
Whose your favourite five artists right now?
My top 5 favourite artists are Machine Gun Kelly, YUNGBLUD, Tom MacDonald, NF and David Bowie.
In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
Since I’m going into all genres I’ll have a wider opinion than most that are stuck to one genre. I’d say the most influential and successful artist in my list of genres is YUNGBLUD due to his energy, his long list of collaborations with big artists, keeping his British accent in his music and just his love towards everyone. He’s a proper artist.
How do you feel about the current state of music?
I love the current state of music! I think everyone judges music because of how diverse it is but that’s the beauty of it! People can go back in time to listen to older material or they can listen to the new stuff. It’s exciting!
Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
As for dream award shows, I’d love to perform at the BRITS as it’s always been a goal of mine!
Who would you say your music relates to the most?
At the moment I’d say anyone that loves pop music really but as my career grows I’ll be dabbling into multiple genres so in a few years time my answer to this question will most likely change.
What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
I think the fact I’m attempting multiple genres as an independent artist speaks volumes on my aspirations as an artist. I’m not saying I’m the first as there’s probably a bunch of people doing it right now but just the fact I’m able to give my own twist on things excites me!
When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Mainly watching YouTube or watching horror movies really. I’m pretty chill with my life and tend to take things as they come.
If you could work with any producer who would it be?
Hmm. Good question. Finneas (Billie Eilishes brother) is probably the main one I’d say.
What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
Seeing my first proper single hit 19,000 total streams. That literally had me in a good mood the entire week!
What is your dream venue to perform at?
Brixton Academy for sure! That place is an entire vibe on its own without any performers and the venue itself is beautiful!
What’s the name of the last book you read and by whom?
Last time I went near a book was back when I was around 12 years old and don’t remember the book name or series but I remember it was by a person called “Darren Shan”.
Whose your favourite actor or actress and their best movie?
I don’t have a favourite actor/actress but I do have a favourite film. My all time favourite film is the conjuring! Always spooked me out haha.
What can we expect from you in the future?
A lot of different albums and genres! I cannot wait to get into my music career and hopefully blow peoples minds up!
Where can the fans check out for your music?
All major music stores and streaming platforms as ‘Bradley Peck’.
