Interview With Hip Hop Artist ‘Dayday Music’

Tell us a little about yourself?

Hi, I am Dayday_music Hip-hop Artist out of Waterville, Maine.

How did you come up with your artist name?

Growing up, I was always called Dayday. I also wanted to be different. I looked to see if there were any artists with an underscore in their name. My stufy showed there was not. I thought it would be a creative way to share my perspective with the world.

How long have you been in the music industry?

I have always had a passion for music. I began freestyle with the guys back in high school. To writing a few songs in college but never putting music out on all platforms until January 1st Of 2021. I’m in the process of learning mixing and mastering for my track and vocals from scratch. So, its all been a learning curve while i find my sound.

How did you get started in the music business in the first place?

I think part of it was my passion for independence. I don’t plan to be a major label artist, i didn’t want a manager. I want to own full rights over my creative work. I began taking that passion and looking into how musicians made their money and what I could do to stay relevant. I began then developing my TikTok and started to push my sounds and songs out while showing people my personality in the process. I did previous release under Dayday but recently switch artists names on June 25, 2021 to Dayday_music.

How would you describe your latest single?

The Climb is about finding your passion whatever it is and following it till you make it. Understanding you will have haters but don’t let them break you and don’t do it for the money do it because you love it.

When can fans expect the visuals for the single?

Visualizer recently dropped on my YouTube under Dayday_music.

Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

I am inspired by J Cole, Kayne and Jay-Z for breaking free from the label and creating their own wealth regardless of crappy contracts.

How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?

Once I hear a beat, I kind of just know I’m going to start writing because it makes me feel an emotion. I think of where I want to go or portray and then I just began writing.

What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?

I am working on a song called Kobe (Mamba Mentality) – Dayday_music the concept is not only a tribute to Kobe but it featured a sample of Kobe Bryant’s voice. It also is about having Mamba Mentality. Relentless, Never given up and pushing towards your dreams, staying up all night grinding. I can relate to this feeling.

Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?

I have a concert on August 18th in Brooklyn, New York where I will be performing My Latest track the climb!

What did you buy with your first check off music?

I take all my money off music and invest in for long term growth. I am less focused on the here and now but more on residual income.

Have yet to record in a studio but a chill environment with some good vibes and time to really work on multiple projects start to finish.

It would be an honour to play at a Grammy’s but that’s not what excites me when it comes to music.

What is your main goal as far as music?

To progressively get better at mixing and mastering my vocals and tracks, while gaining a loyal fanbase in the process that understands the journey I’m on, while giving people something to feel or think about when they hear my music. I want to remain independent to show people you do not need millions to break into the music industry! Showing artist that they are the creator and should remain creator of their own work.

Who would you say your music relates to the most?

I would my music is all things I have gone through and overcame. I definitely think my music is for people who need a little extra motivation. So, if you’re struggling you can relate to what I’m saying.

What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)

I am completely independent, no help from major labels, no audio engineer, just me. I am the manager, the promoter and the label, while also being the artist. I am doing thing’s not every artist is doing and using my platform to share love and a positive message while trying to help the world on a humanitarian level.
