Tell us a little about yourself?
Hi! My name is Dennis, the person behind Bizarre Therapy. Originally from Serbia, moved to the UK in 2015.
How did you come up with your artist name?
Back in the day I was fascinated with the word ‘Bizarre’ and I tried incorporating it the project’s name somehow. After a lot of thought I settled with ‘Bizarre Therapy’.
How long have you been in the music industry?
I’ve been composing music since I was 14, was in a choir from 8 until 11 years of age and was in bands throughout my early 20’s, but I’ve not entered the actual industry up until March 2021.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
After exploring my SD card that’s not been touched for years I found some of my old track and thought “why not give it a shot”.
How would you describe your latest single?
My latest single is coming out on July 12th 2021 and it turned out completely different to what I thought it’d be. If I’d have to somehow sum it up, it’s a combination of many genres and it’s (like most of my tracks) a great travel soundtrack.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
The visualiser for the upcoming track is being premiered (same time as it drops in all major streaming platforms) on YouTube July 12th 2021, 00:00 BST
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
Personally I don’t look for artists to inspire me in my musical ventures.
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
Either start messing about with effects or there’s a drum beat in mind. Whichever I like more gets the rest of the track shaped around it.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
Not working on any projects at the moment…at least I don’t think I am.
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
No touring at the moment because of the pandemic, unfortunately.
What did you buy with your first check off music?
The visualiser for the upcoming track.
What are must haves when your in the studio working?
A smoking area is a must because there’s always something that’ll stress me out one way or another.
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Don’t buy fake streams.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
There are a few artists on the table, but I’m not promising anything just yet. It’s a work in progress.
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
I’ve not worked with any artist up until this point, but I’m optimistic about the idea. Well…it can go both ways, hopefully not to many bad ones.
Name an artist(s) that you would love to work with?
If it’s any electronic sound then Deadmau5 for sure.
Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?
Since I make instrumentals, it’ll have to be beats.
What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc…)
Definitely better production, but that’ll come with time.
What’s your all-time favourite song?
‘Deadhead’ by Devin Townsend.
What was the last album you listened to?
Wow, that’s a tough one. I’ve not listened to a full album for ages. The one that I can remember listening to last was ‘Under Reprisal’ by Threat Signal.
Your favourite artist of all time and why?
Devin Townsend without a doubt. A flawless artist.
Whose your favourite five artists right now?
Devin Townsend, Jason Richardson, Tosin Abasi, Corpse and a band called ‘Thy Art Is Murder’.
Who have been some of your favourite artists that you’ve been able to work with?
Haven’t worked with any, unfortunately.
How do you feel about the current state of music?
From what I’ve been seeing so far, it’s an absolute mess.
Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
Not too bothered about playing at award shows, not the biggest fan.
What is your main goal as far as music?
To leave some sort of impact on the industry and have some money out of it. Let’s be real, there isn’t a single person who doesn’t want monetary gain at least a bit.
Who would you say your music relates to the most?
Listening to my tracks, it feels like stoners would have them on repeat.
What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
I make music exactly how I want it to sound. Obviously I want listeners to like it as well, but my opinion comes first because it represents me. And I make music exclusively on my phone, so there’s that.
When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
I work two jobs so my go to fun activity is sleeping whenever I can.
If you could work with any producer who would it be?
Absolutely clueless when it comes to producers.
What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
I have a song placed on a compilation release with OIM Records that’s meant to be out some time this autumn.
What is your dream venue to perform at?
Perfectly fine with the O2 Arena in Birmingham.
What’s the name of the last book you read and by whom?
I’ve read a children’s book to my son named “That’s not my dinosaur” by Fiona Watt.
What’s your favourite sports team and why?
Not watched sports for years, but my latest one was AC Milan.
Whose your favourite actor or actress and their best movie?
Jason Statham, Transporter.
Name someone famous who inspires you and why?
This is a random one, but Jacksepticeye has mad energy and it’s something I admire.
What can we expect from you in the future?
I’m not promising anything, but there might be an album coming out beginning of 2022. Also (hopefully) some Collab’s, and maybe even some tracks with my vocals on them. You never know how the wind blows.
Where can the fans check out for your music?
