My Name is Nyce Hitz I am a DJ/Producer from Providence RI and Now adding artist to that Title
How did you come up with your artist name?
I always went by Nyce which stands for Not Your Common Enemy since elementary school because it fit me. Later I added the Hitz because I have always been about striving to make Hitz.
How long have you been in the music industry?
For as long as I can remember. I started Djn in the 4th Grade making mixtapes and I just kept expanding my interest in the field of music.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
I always watched my father and my uncle. My father was a big deal in the gospel scene around here. And my uncle managed Boyz II Men and Diddy and others so watching them made me pursue it.
How would you describe your latest single?
Well, the project is called Now That You Know and I’d describe it as just letting everyone know how I felt at the time also while letting them know I am for real with this music as well because a lot of people didn’t know.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
We are working on if we are going to do visuals for this project or wait for the next one since this was the first.
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
I’d say Bryan Cox, polo da don, Ty Dolla, and anyone who can write or produce a great song.
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
I basically freestyle the song based on the feeling, take what I like from that and then complete writing it and I only give myself 30mins to complete a record.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
I’m keeping it on brand with relationships and having a good time and trying to speak to situations any man may go thru.
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
No. Just trying to perfect my craft right now.
What did you buy with your first check off music?
I paid bills lol. The first real money I received from music was needed at the time.
What are must haves when your in the studio working?
The TV has to be on something that I would actually watch can’t be anything. Maybe a little Lq And water. The session has to be closed off as well. Only me.
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Steve Lobel always told me The coach last longer than the Player. So I learned other skills so I could always have work and be a leader.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
I’m sure I will but no plans right now.
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
As a producer, I’ve worked with many but I’d have to say artist in my city such as Trav Black, Hammer Hendrix and a few others.
Name an artist(s) that you would love to work with?
I don’t think I have a specific one but off top, I’d say The Dream, Bryson, Summer, Pardison and more.
Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?
Depends on what you’re looking for. But I have to say if you have a good melody that’ll always hook someone.
What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc…)
Delivery such as trying new things and being more outgoing as an artist.
What’s your all-time favourite song?
That’s a hard question. Any Jay-z song just depends on the day.

Your favourite artist of all time and why?
Jay-z. His consistency has to be admired, His concepts and beat selection has been spot on.
Whose your favourite five artists right now?
Kendrick, Jay-z, Bryson, Moneybagg Yo, Big Sean.
In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
It has to be Drake he’s been on top for years and he’s another one who is consistent with providing for the culture.
How do you feel about the current state of music?
It’s in a great place. There are so many artists who have been able to create subgenres just by being themselves and not conforming to what you are “supposed” to do.
Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
Bet Awards, That is a great show for the culture.
What is your main goal as far as music?
Just be the best me. I know as long as I can do that sky is the limit.
Who would you say your music relates to the most?
Anyone who has been in any type of relationship. The good ones the bad ones, the short ones the long term ones, anyone who has had any type of feelings towards someone.
What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
I produce my own music and go after my own vibe. I’m not afraid to try new things sounds and challenge myself so my music will always evolve.
When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Watch the Nba or Nfl, study what’s going on in the world, read and learn new things.

What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
Releasing my project. It took a lot for me to take that step and share my talents.
What is your dream venue to perform at?
Dunkin Donuts Center right at home in Providence RI
What’s your favourite sports team and why?
The Celtics. I’m a die hard fan of that organization and they play not too far from here. The good times and the bad I’m forever a fan.
Whose your favourite actor or actress and their best movie?
Eddie Murphy. Coming to America is a movie I watch way too often.
What can we expect from you in the future?
More music. I’m going to stay consistent with releases. Also continuing to produce and write for/with others.
