Interview With Artist, Entertainer & Talk Host ‘Bo Dean’

Tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Bo Dean. I am a music artist, educator, talk show host and all-around entertainer.

How did you come up with your artist name?

Bo Dean was a family nickname that they called my dad. They started calling me little Bo and in middle school, I ran with that as my nickname. When I started rapping,  I turned that into my artist name. It stands for Best Observer Dat Ever Analyzed Nature.

How long have you been in the music industry?

11 years

How did you get started in the music business in the first place?

Music has always been a passion of mine so once I decided to take it seriously, I did the necessary steps to get my music out to the public and it’s been a dope journey ever since.

How would you describe your latest single?

Came A Long Way is a song about starting from the bottom and making our way to the top. I paid my dues, been through my trials and tribulations, now it’s time to reap my rewards.

Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

Jay Z, Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, 50 Cent,  Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?

Different songs bring out different feelings. So whatever the beat is speaking to me is what I will write about. And if other artists are in the room and I’m drawing inspiration from them, that helps the writing process go faster as well.

What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?

My most recent project is a collaborative album with artist/producer Kahsan,  entitled “The Relic” which means an object surviving from an earlier time, especially one of historical or sentimental interest.

We name the project this because it will withstand the tests of time and remain valuable and deemed a “classic.” In my opinion, that’s what a classic is. Music that withstood the tests of time and is still held in high regard. That’s how this album we be looked at.

That’s. A tough one. Maybe Lil Wayne as far as an artist goes. The Wayne era was crazy.
