Interview With Hip Hop, Rap Artist & Actor ‘Omega’

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m in this game to revive the 90s! 

How did you come up with your artist name? 

I came up with Omega through my zodiac sign and im a last of a dying breed which means im The END! 

How long have you been in the music industry? 

2 years professionally 8 years on amateur level.

How did you get started in the music business in the first  place? 

I started originally in film with Benzino on my tv series “Street Runners”. One day I sent him a track I was working on and he replied back saying “That joint is fire! Is that you spittin  on that last verse?” I replied “ it’s just a freestyle… how I do!?” He said i bodied that track and he wants a piece. 

How would you describe your latest single? 

RAW! Honestly it will be an eye opener on how I feel about all this proclaiming narcissistic behavior that’s been going on. I’m letting fans know I’m about realism not social media life! 

When can fans expect the visuals for the single?

That old school vintage VH1/ MTV visual. In my videos I want to take you back to how life use to be when you you get excited watching the video more than hearing the song! 

Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

I actually have a track title “Mr. MC” from my album Real N**** Poetry that explains which MCees are my favorites, why they are my favorite, and which artists are responsible for the sound of Omega.

How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?  

I don’t write. I say the same lines in my head until I memorise it and than go record. 

What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one? 

Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?

Absolutely! I’m currently getting bookings out west and up north! 

What did you buy with your first check off music?

I’ll let you know when I get one! 

What are must haves when your in the studio working?

Water, game greens, central air that’s it! 

What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?

Staying in my lane and understand that no matter how many ppl wants to work with you you are competition so leave it all behind the mic! 

Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?

Yes! I want to be able to test my lyrical abilities to some of the greats to see if I measure up or become better.

Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats  or for the lyrical flow and content?

Music is only created Best when a wordsmith and dj unite forces. The wordsmith lyrics is the internal feeling and the DJs instrumental is the external feeling.

What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc…)

Overall everything can always use improve including myself.

What’s your all-time favourite song? 

I Run by Slim Thugg. That song explains me in a nut shell. 

What was the last album you listened to?

Born 2 Rap by The Game 

Your favourite artist of all time and why?

Lil Wayne because he said everything under the sun in rap! 

Whose your favourite five artists right now? 

The Game, Drake, Dave East, King Von and AMR Dee Huncho 

In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

Drake because he can’t miss. He spit bars, he sing, he can harmonize, he’s basically the avatar of rap as of now! 

Who have been some of your favourite artists that you’ve been  able to work with? 

Rich the Factor and International Jones

How do you feel about the current state of music? 

Its traveling but I can be better and will. 

Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?

I want to perform at all award shows if possible! 

What is your main goal as far as music?

I want my music to live longer than me and never to be forgotten. 

Who would you say your music relates to the most?

My music relate it the underdogs, the unpopular, the rebels and villains of life that people look down on.

What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)

When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?

Bodybuilding or powerlifting and working on films. 

If you could work with any producer who would it be?

Metro Boomin 

What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?

Musically….signing a record deal with Stackin Up Entertainment/powered by Empire

What is your dream venue to perform at?

Coachcella 

What’s the name of the last book you read and by whom?

48 Laws Of Power by Robert Greene

What’s your favourite sports team and why?

Rams cause I’m from “Tha Lou and I’m proud”!

Whose your favourite actor or actress and their best movie?

The Rock in Hercules 

Name someone famous who inspires you and why?

Stanley “Tookie” Williams. He was an underdog only known for violence but to me he was a visionary who won a Nobel Prize for children books on anti gangs, drugs, and violence. A man who came from poverty, bullying, gangs, and drugs to showing what it means to be a man on his road to redemption and reformation. One the baddest gangster on earth reformed into a man with a vision. 

What can we expect from you in the future?

Greatness! And nothing short of that!
