Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Hannah Strumner, I am a songwriter-singer from the United States. I am 20-years-old and I have been songwriting since the age of six. I love writing in all different genres, from rock to country!
How did you come up with your artist name?
Haha, I am lucky that Hannah is already my name! If I could change my name though, it would be cool to be called “Kelsey.”
How long have you been in the music industry?
I have been in the industry since the age of 13 on and off, but really got serious about it around two years ago in 2020 when COVID-19 hit and I was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes and I figured we never know what happens tomorrow, so it is best to chase our dreams.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
I was inspired to do so by looking up to different artists like Taylor Swift. I started to do research, and found out one doesn’t always need a label to get into the industry, someone can be an independent artist as well!
How would you describe your latest single?
My latest single is very emotional and raw, just like my album! My album does have some happy tunes as well like “Brown Eyes” and “Lost Inside my Mind” which are a lot more upbeat compared to my album’s single “Are You Ready to Let Go” which features Sam Henry.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
There is a music video out for my single, and there will be a bunch of lyric videos out for my album itself. My inspirations in the music industry are Billy Joel, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and Bobbie Gentry!

Writing a song really varies every time. Sometimes it is a sit down thing where I want to write a song, and other times (which is usually the case) I will come up with a little idea and record it in my voice memos.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
The concept behind my album project is that one doesn’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. This was because of my Type One Diabetes diagnosis and how unexpected it was.
