Tell us a little about yourself?
I was born on October 21 1998 and grew up in Wales, Cwmbran. I became interested in music after listening to artists like Tupac, Logic, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole. My first introduction to hip-hop was N.W.A, Later inspired by Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion. At the age of 12 I took inspiration from my favourite artists to create my own rhymes. A few years later I started recording my own music from my home studio, self taught.
How did you come up with your artist name?
I used my name. I am my own brand. I want people to know me for me, plus any other way I venture out I want to be known or associated with me not a fake name being a fake person. Keep it real always.
How long have you been in the music industry?
I was learning for three years and put it into practice for a year now.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
I was sitting down one day after a few traumatic events happened. Losing someone to suicide, Trying to take my own, The girl I loved left cause she didn’t believe, things kept going wrong in my life. I wanted to share my experiences and help as many people as possible. I thought how can I do that? I loved Hip-Hop, and I always listened through school (was not the popular kid) it helped me through. I thought if it helped me maybe I can help others. I released some singles I class as practice tunes that go by the names of “MeForMe” “ThisIsMyLife” and 3 more. That practice helped me in the music to come. I then took the next months very serious, learning to make “NUMB” an album of 12 tracks that talks about my struggles, suicide, drugs, etc.. Intended to help the listener while keeping the sound fresh. I want people to know I didn’t come from anything, no money, nothing. I choose to do this to show people that you can come from nothing and make yourself something.
How would you describe your latest single?
My last single is a prediction called “COCKY” It’s the last song before I found my true sound on the album. I am from the UK so there is music called “grime.” I liked the sound and flow so I did a YouTube exclusive experimental track. I want to be versatile. I get that from Drake, he sounds different every track. I like that.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
I would love to do visuals, money is tight so everything I do is on a budget. Imagine if I had help. We’d be on top already. To answer that I will do a video of that song when I find a team that wants to shoot it with me. A good team. Sign me already.. π
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
I am Inspired by a lot of different people from different genres. I was inspired to rap by Logic, Drake, Jay-Z, Tupac, J.cole, N.W.A, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar & Joyner Lucas. They were my lyricists. I was inspired emotionally by Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion. Even people like Bob Marley for the realism. I take the best points from all these artists. From the “grime” scene even people like AJ Tracey, Aitch and Big Zuu.
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
I wait until I feel the mood for a certain song type. For example, If I’m angry I will write to an angry beat then stop when my mood changes. If I start feeling sad I switch beats and write between songs and moods. I might just do it all in one sitting depending on the mood. Let me plug my new album “NUMB” I completely closed myself off to get as low as possible and then began to write. I keep it real.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
The concept of my upcoming body of work is “NUMB” an album that talks about my experience with suicide, drugs, feeling alone, women, heartbreak and emotion. I feel men struggle and don’t open up about any emotions. Men take their own lives due to this so I want to bring light to it.
