How did you come up with your artist name?

It’s my real name πŸ™‚ I get asked all the time if it’s a stage name! I guess it does have a nice ring to it.

How long have you been in the music industry?

I would say I have about 10+ years of professional experience now but I’ve been singing and writing songs my entire life.

How did you get started in the music business in the first place?

For as long as I can remember I’ve always wanted to sing or be in the spotlight somehow. It’s in my blood, I don’t remember ever not singing.

How would you describe your latest single?

“I Like U But…” is my latest single which I actually wrote last year after being dumped so many times for the most bizarre reasons. It was always about how these people liked me too much and couldn’t handle it. Both the song and music video are quirky and funny while simultaneously being real and relatable. Coming from immense heartbreak, I reminisce on unbelievable moments in my love life that lead me into writing this song (in real life and in the video).

When can fans expect the visuals for the single?

Everything is out and streaming now and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!

Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

I have so many varying across so many different genres. Amy Winehouse, Stevie Nicks, Missy Elliot, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa. So many more too. It changes constantly but these have stayed pretty consistent lately.

How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?

It’s different every time. When I write alone, I usually mess around on my guitar and come up with a melody first. Sometimes a concept or lyrics hit me when I’m walking down the street or when I’m having a conversation and someone says something cool so I write it down and try to write it later. A lot of times when I write with my producer he either sends me a track that we write too or I give him an idea that he creates a few beats to until something sticks.

What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?

I have quite a few new songs I’m working on currently! Still unsure if it’ll be an EP or singles but they all are inspired EDM and House music. I’m so excited for these. I feel the most me in these songs so far.

Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?

I haven’t toured since before the pandemic and this year was the first year that things started to feel normal again. I also think my music has changed so much since that it feels like I’m starting over in a way. I’d love to tour again and it’s definitely on my radar/in my plans. Just a matter of when. We’ll see!

What did you buy with your first check off music?

Haha my rent! I’m not rolling in it yet by any means but I’m able to pay for my basic needs to live which I’m grateful for.

What are must haves when your in the studio working?

Ego and judgements of everyone must leave the room. There’s no room for me to work with my ego and other’s ego in the way. I get really in my head about mistakes I make and people hearing them but I’ve learned that being in the studio is all experimentation and to just go for it. I have to be really comfortable with the people in the room and just have a good time. No pressure to create the best thing we’ve ever heard but just create something that’s inspiring in the moment then see where it goes. If that makes sense? Also, boat loads of water and tea πŸ™‚

What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?

There’s no instant success. A career is something that grows over time, and fame doesn’t guarantee a career.

Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?

Yes definitely! I do have a song I’m working on releasing soon with my friend Drew The Recluse, another I’m in the process of recording with my friend Frank Bailoni, and more are in the works too!

Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

I think people definitely connect with my lyrics the most. Every time I release a song I get told how relatable it is.

What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc…)

I think there’s always room for improvement and things will always get better as time goes on. My lyrics will continue to get stronger as well as my voice, etc. But one thing I can think of is social media presence and the pressure of it. I could work on that more and also letting go of pressure.

What was the last album you listened to?

The new Beyonce album!!! I am obsessed.

When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?

I love going out, being with my friends, and going to the gym.

Where can the fans check out for your music?
