
Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m Born and Raised in Newark, NJ (AKA Brick City) but that cold stuff is for the birds. I live an hour south of Miami in the Florida Keys. I’m a Bilingual Spoken Word/CHH Artist/Chef/Respiratory Therapist/Auto&Marine Detailer. Some doors close for others to open. And whatever Door my God opens, no man can close. I was a Gangbanger and now I’m in the juvenile facilities in Miami – Dade and Broward County speaking life into those young men. My experiences allow me to reach folks other folks can’t reach. Music is cool and all, but what you really doing. What are they going to say about you when it’s all said and done. I wanna hear “ Well done my good and faithful servant “
How did you come up with your artist name?
Macho is a common Puerto Rican nickname. I know about 37 Machos. All of us are good looking except like two. Drugs are bad.
How long have you been in the music industry?
Honestly I started making music in like 2011 we sold 10,000 copies in Orlando the summer of 2012. I was riding a bmx with a book bag full of cds. 5$ a pop we paid 0.50 cents a copy. That was my start.
How did you get started in the music business in the first place?
Music has been my escape my entire life. It was bound to happen. I could always rap, it’s when I started rapping in Spanish that the opportunity came.
How would you describe your latest single?
My latest single…America. This one is almost a call for accountability. As a whole America needs to do better. I take great pride in being an American. I’m also in a state of grievance because the America I grew up loving and being proud of almost doesn’t exist anymore.
When can fans expect the visuals for the single?
Soon, I’ve got a lot of things in motion and I don’t like to count my chickens before they hatch. Trust the process.
Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
Too many to count. I grew up in the 80s & 90s. But if I was to say inspirations as far as my craft is involved. I would say Sevin, Bizzle, Propaganda, El Sica/Christian Ponce, and Zee
How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
Funny it’s almost every Sunday morning I get this jolt of inspiration. I buy most of my beats from DJLC and he knows my style and my content. So he always sends me something I can tell a story with.
What is the concept behind your forthcoming project if working on one?
The title to my project is called Feed My Sheep. I chose this because it really tells my story and my journey. When Jesus asked Peter the third time “ Do you love me “ Peter replied, “ Rabbi you know all things, you know I love you” Jesus said “ Then feed my sheep”
Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
That would be cool but not yet.
What did you buy with your first check off music?
I haven’t gotten a check yet. lol
What are must haves when your in the studio working?
Cuban Coffee. Room temperature water. And good vibes.
What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Get into character and stop reading off the paper.
Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
Most definitely I am. Technology has allowed for us to make music with folks both even in the sand state as you. Just click a button and send vocals.
What artist have you had the pleasure of working with and what was it like?
DJLC. I went to Jersey for my niece’s baby shower and I had an extra day to burn. This man drove two hours to pick me up and two hours back to his spot. We stopped got some grub and chopped it up. He’s 21 I’m 40 I have a kid his age and he’s got wisdom in some areas that will blow you away. The song is unreleased and will be on my album

Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?
Oh the beat is just the stage. Folks don’t have a choice because what I’m saying and how I’m saying it blends with the beat and they become one. That is my goal every single song.
What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc…)
Just growing in my studio element. Being comfortable and confident.

Favorite favorite I would honestly say Big Pun.

In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
So I have several genres I fall into poetry and spoken word I’d go with Propaganda because he‘a influenced me. CHH I’d say Lecrae being the most successful. CHH Latino I gotta give it the likes of the OG Manny Montes.
Who have been some of your favourite artists that you’ve been able to work with?
Foreward Nation Hands Down. We met through Instagram and we’re both big Miami Hurricanes Fan so Fugetaboutit, Best Friends lol.
How do you feel about the current state of music?
Music has always been a tool to either breathe life of spew death. It used to be drug dealer music Now they found another way to get rid of us and we get drug user music.
Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
Never real thought that far ahead.
What is your main goal as far as music?
To speak life through the speakers. For someone to hear the message and find hope. Or find freedom.
Who would you say your music relates to the most?
Whoever likes content. Whoever wants to hear something different than other same stuff we been listening to.
What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
I’m a bilingual spoken word/rapper. I rap in both languages fluently and able to do it at a high level.
When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Warzone or play guitar with my daughter have jam sessions with her.
If you could work with any producer who would it be?
Whoever can read my mind lol
What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
Being called back for open mic night 4 weeks in a row.
What is your dream venue to perform at?
Jetlife stadium.

What’s your favourite sports team and why?
The stupid New York Jets. I don’t know why. I hate them. Ruined my New Years those bums. Sorry not sorry.

Morgan Freeman – Stand by me
Name someone famous who inspires you and why?
I’m not really into famous people unless they’ve done something other than just being famous. They really can’t inspire me. But take for instance Roberto Clemente Puerto Rican baseball player for the Pittsburg Pirates. Died in a plane crash bringing supplies to folks in Nicaragua.
